Frequently Asked Questions
How can I book online?
All treatments are available to book online. Simply click here and you will be taken through to the booking page. If you have a question about which treatment to choose, please contact me.
Upon making a booking, you will receive an email confirming all the important details, along with an email reminder 2 days prior to your appointment.
If this is your first appointment with us, you will also receive a New Patient Consultation Form via email the day before your appointment. Please complete this because we will not be able to treat you until you have, and completion on the day will be part of your appointment time.
Can I be accompanied to my appointment?
Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you wish to bring a friend or family member to support you during an appointment please call to discuss as Covid safety regulations mean that where possible only the patient and therapist should be in the treatment room.
Can I speak to Sarah before making an appointment?
Of course! I am very happy to answer any questions you may have and clarify anything you may be unsure about before you make or attend your appointment. Call on 07880630145 and leave a message. I will call you back at my earliest opportunity.
What is your Cancellation policy?
Please cancel as soon as possible if a foreseeable event is likely to prevent you from attending, for example, illness or adverse weather conditions.
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Failure to attend an appointment with less than 24 hours notice of cancellation will incur a 50% charge for the appointment. This is because I may not be able to fill your appointment slot and still need to cover costs.
However, if you need to cancel your appointment at short notice because of Covid-19 related symptoms or a long-term medical condition which varies from day to day we can discuss the cost implications on a case-by-case basis.
In the event of ‘no show’ a note will be added to your account and payment of the aforementioned 50% will be requested at your next treatment.
Late Arrivals: I appreciate that sometimes, things happen, and you may arrive a little later or need to leave a bit earlier than planned but please try to attend at our agreed appointment time as I cannot make up the missed time by overrunning or adding time to subsequent appointments.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Coming soon.
How can I pay?
I accept payment by credit and debit card. I regret that I cannot accept cash at this time due to Covid19 restrictions.
How will I feel after my treatment?
Individuals react in different ways to different treatments. Some people feel very energised others quite sleepy. It is not unusual to feel a bit achy for a day or two afterwards, as you might after exercise. The best way to help your body make the most of your treatment is to drink plenty of water afterwards and get a nice early night. It is worth paying attention to how you feel post-treatment and discussing anything you noticed with me at your next appointment so I can adjust your subsequent treatments to best suit you as an individual. If you are at all concerned or have any questions about how you are feeling post treatment please do not hesitate to contact me.
Insurance companies:
Some insurance companies will cover remedial massage treatments but whether you are covered will come down to the type of policy you have. It is recommended that you contact your insurance company before treatment and they will be able to tell you what is covered and how to claim. I require patients to make payment directly to the clinic after each treatment, you will then be provided with a receipt, which you can send to your insurance company so they can reimburse you.
Private health cash plans
CNHC registration is recognised for reimbursement with a number of private health cash plan providers. This means that patients who are members of the relevant plans can claim for the cost of the treatments when they visit CNHC registered complementary therapists.
What is your Patient confidentiality policy?
I take patient confidentiality very seriously and understand my professional and legal duty to keep private any information obtained during your consultation and treatment. Information about you will never be disclosed without your prior consent. For more information, view the privacy policy and the SMA code of conduct.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that you remove easily for treatment and assessment. Please remove jewellery prior to the appointment. Some patients like to bring shorts to change in to for their treatment. You will always be covered appropriately during treatment with towels to keep you warm and maintain modesty.
What will happen during my first appointment?
New patients will be asked to complete an online New Patient intake form to gather information on your health history. I will assess standing and moving to enable me to understand the nature of your problem. I’m happy to explain any techniques used and answer any questions you may have at any point during your treatment. I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Where can I park?
The calm and welcoming Better U Therapies treatment space is located in a beautiful, purpose-built garden studio (shown below) on Elvetham Heath, Fleet. This is a residential area so you are politely requested to park considerately in the road. Please call or text 07880630145 when you arrive and Sarah will come to meet you from your car. Please note there is no waiting room at the treatment space and no bathroom access.
